Reserve deputy charged with sex assault of minor

VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) — A Crawford County reserve deputy is accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

Police in El Reno, Okla., arrested 45-year-old Thomas Shawn Nelson after police in Van Buren asked agencies to watch for Nelson, who was believed to be traveling to California.

Nelson was caught on Interstate 40 outside of Oklahoma City.

The Southwest Times Record reports that Van Buren police were summoned after a juvenile was brought to a hospital for treatment early Sunday.

Police say Nelson is being held in the Canadian County jail in Oklahoma. He is expected to be extradited to Crawford County. It wasn't immediately clear whether Nelson has a lawyer.

your both right but this is even worse a cop paid to protect kids it seems all police depts are out of control even the little rock cop who shot the kid only gets fired a slap on wrist an move on to another police dept

You are 100% about the lack of justice for people like this. People that commit crimes against children should be wiped out totally. They are useless pieces of trash.

This kind of non-sense will continue as long as our justice system continues to provide all the protection (and ZERO punishment) to the scumbags and zero protection to the victims. If found guilty, this dirtbag should have his testicles nailed to the floor, the house be set on fire, and then given a cross cut saw and told to either saw 'em off or die in the fire.
