LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Friday, more than 8 inches of rain fell on Jefferson County, causing damaged trucks and cars, flooded roads, and interruptions at some schools.

Emergency management leaders say at least 20 homes had minor damage, including William Bateman's home.

His ceiling collapsed on his porch and in his kitchen.

"I hate to think about what it's going to cost," said Bateman.

His neighbor's home across the street also had minor damage. But she had major fear from the wind too.

"It was real bad," said Thelma Tripp.

But the rain eventually stopped, making so many people realize the situation could have presented more problems.

"I'm very thankful because the streets were flooded. You couldn't anywhere. It was terrible. It was real terrible," said Tripp.
