GREENBRIER, Ark. (AP) — Emergency management officials say about 20 people have been safely evacuated in Faulkner County because of flooding.

Officials say residents of two homes outside of Vilonia were evacuated Wednesday to a nearby Baptist church. In Greenbrier, about 14 people were taken to nearby churches when floodwaters started creeping into their homes. No injuries have been reported.

Spokesman Tommy Jackson with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management says several roads in Faulkner County are still blocked by the water. Jackson says Faulkner is the only county with reported evacuations and that no counties have put in requests for state assistance.

The National Weather Service has issued flood and flash flood warnings for many areas of the state after a storm system stalled over Arkansas, dumping heavy rain over many areas.
