NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A Willow House resident who didn't want to reveal her identity said she can't keep silent about how uncomfortable it is living with no air.

"It's in the '80s in our apartments. You know how they used to do in prison when they put you out on the concrete into a box and let the sun just squelter you? That's how hot it is in there," said the resident.

Willow House management has to manually switch the system from heat to air. Even though spring seems to have sprung a bit early, they haven't done it yet.

"Some years you have to be flexible. Is this not one of the those years?" I asked.

"Absolutely and we are responding," said North Little Rock Director Brenda Snow.

Snow said residents will complain if they switch the system and the mercury drops.  She said an HVAC technician should have been on site some time Monday to make the switch.

Snow asks for patience because after a technician makes the switch, it could take two days before residents feel the cool air.

"We want our residents to be comfortable and we do our best to make sure they are," said Snow.

Neighbors believe they've been patient long enough.

"We pay our rent and if you don't pay your rent you get kicked out. They should make the people paying their rent comfortable," said the resident.

there are absolutely NO renter's rights in this state..With the economy the way it is and as many people who must rent now, thanks to the tards in DC, there should really be some type of renter's rights. I'm renting while I build a house and I've been there for three years. Last Summer I noticed the air wasn't blowing right and it stayed on all day long b/c it wasn't cooling the house..After the real estate company finally sent someone out to check, they said the ducts needed to be replaced. It took 3 months for them to replace them and they didn't do it until SEPT! I had practically no air all summer with temps up to 110 degs. My electric bill was close to $500 a month compared to the normal $140-$180. I just had to suck it up and pay that crap, no discount on rent or anything. I couldn't turn my air off during the day b/c I didn't want to leave fans plugged up while I wasn't home and needed to have some kind of air flow in the house since it was friggen hot or my animals would have had a heat stroke... If I'd held money out from my rent check to supplement my HIGH electric bill, I would have been charged late fees and probably evicted. When you pay rent, the leaser should be forced to hold up their end of the agreement if they expect you to pay the full amount..There should be a law for that. If we need any new laws then it should be for renter's rights, these slum lords are just disgraceful and should be held accountantable.

get those credit scores up, get a loan and go buy you a house, you will be glad you did then you wouldnt have to worry about someone switching on air from heat and vice versa, you will be able to control your on system

Sounds like Tanglewood. " All utilities paid." They leave out the part about the season changes when you can't switch over to heat/air or that it really isn't an "air conditioner" its a chiller system that doesn't compete with Arkansas Summers......If it sounds too good to be true...well you know the rest.
