RISON, AR -- In the now dark, burned out city hall, state police try to piece together who torched the center of Rison city government.

"Whoever set this fire I hope they realize they've something more than just a criminal act, but it's a personal act. It's violated a lot of people's space," Mayor Vernon Dollar said.

Despite the tremendous loss, Mayor Vernon Dollar said no city services suffered. The police department relocated to the fire station. If your water bill is due this week, the mayor is giving you a break. Pay it next week.

"We will rebuild. We will come back. I hate that this happened but we will pull together," said Mayor Dollar.

According to investigators, it's clear the arson started in the police department and spread across the building.  As they sifted through everything investigators noticed missing guns.

"Cleveland County sheriff and state police are helping us and we want to catch them," said Chief Jeff Prescott.

It's clear the fire destroyed a lot, but what hurts employees are the memories and momentos, now charred.

"Although this isn't my home this is my second home. This is where I work and where other people work," said Mayor Dollar.

If you have a question about city services, call the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.
