NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – The North Little Rock Board of Education unanimously voted for Kelly Rodgers to be the school district’s new superintendent in a special meeting Wednesday night.

Rodgers comes to Arkansas from the Terrell Independent School District (ISD) in Texas where he served as the superintendent. Prior to Terrell, Rogers worked in Texas as superintendent in Center ISD and assistant superintendent in DeKalb ISD.

Ken Kirspel, the current superintendent for the school district, announced in December of 2010 that he would be leaving following the 2012-2013 school year.

Mr. Rodgers will not last long. Probably be best to hire someone who is familiar with North Little Rock/Little Rock demograpic population. UNLESS THE BOARD WILL GIVE HIM A LONGER LEASH TO WORK FROM.
