Ross and Griffin oppose raising severance tax on natural gas

Republican Congressman Tim Griffin and Democratic Congressman Mike Ross both said raising the state's severance tax on natural gas will cost Arkansas jobs.

swflyer, are you confused as to what the job of a state rep is??? He's not repping the nation, he's repping for AR. Griffin is doing what he's supposed to be doing.

they better oppose it..natural gas prices are high enough and who do they think they're punishing with that tax? It's not the gas company, the cost will be passed down to the consumer...I think that all utility companies should be co-ops anyway. They're using our land and resources so why should they reap all of the profit? Co-ops should be the only way to go as far as utilities are concerned.

swflyer - if more rep's spent more time at home than in DC, we'd all be better off; he's here, involved, and not up there making stupid legislation to tax us and take away our liberties. the less time politicians are in DC, the less the amount of damage they can do.

I agree, you don't want to tax business out of business. Besides, these taxes would not be paid by the companies, but by the consumers.
