LITTLE ROCK, AR - Starting Monday the Salvation Army will take applications for the 2011 Angel Tree program. Families with kids up to the age of 12 are eligible.

You need to bring a picture ID and a social security card or W-7 for every member of the household, as well as proof of address -- like a lease or utility bill.

Don't forget, birth certificates are needed and proof of income and expenses.

If you are unemployed or receive food stamps, bring a verification letter.

Each year the Salvation Army distributes gifts and food to qualified families through the Angel Tree program.

Every Christmas they provided a food basket and several x-mas presents for my son, (and 1 small gift for me (a necklace, make-up kit, etc.)to be wrapped for the child to give to parent. The helpers were always nice and friendly. Still remember
