Salvation Army taking Angel Tree applications

Starting Monday the Salvation Army will take applications for the 2011 Angel Tree program. Families with kids up to the age of 12 are eligible.

This is a wonderful program. Way back in the 70s when I was a single mother, on welfare, working and going to college, the walfare dept signed me up for the Salvation Army program. Every Christmas they provided a food basket and several x-mas presents for my son, (and 1 small gift for me (a necklace, make-up kit, etc.)to be wrapped for the child to give to parent. The helpers were always nice and friendly. Still remember
