kdawg67, a mom, GaryT, Please note that the time change was a result of the poor management of the the school board and its choice to continue to violate three court orders and violated the contract of over 1,200 employees. Further, the change was made (last minute) without research and input from the parents.

it's all about the unions...time to boot them. They have outlived there need. Wherever there are unions there is strife and discontent. Wonder why we have no manufacturing in this country? UNIONS..

a mom , I agree and i apologize to the non- union teachers.there needs to be a decision made and leave it alone for the remainder of the school year.this should be what is best for the kids, i may be wrong but i feel like that there may be more chatting of this amoungest the teachers during the hours that they should be giving our children the education that they are there for.I also feel that changing it now, will create more problems than it will solve, there are many parents who will not have after school care available to them because they have given up their spot, and made other arrangements to get their child picked up at the end of school (with the schedule we are on now). but what we need representing our schools are board members who will stand behind a decision and not let a few whiners disrupt everybodies life. leave the schedule like it is NOW, and vote to change it next year.

kdawg67, I like your sentiments; however we need to keep in mind that it was union teachers who filed the lawsuit that is essentially causing us to change schedules yet again. I understand wanting to replace some board members, but we need to be careful as we could get something worse, namely a union that continues to have far too much power.

Pauly - this isn't Little Rock School District board of directors - it is Pulaski County Special School District!

I think this is crazy, why could the Board have not waited a whole year and then changed the bell schedule. This is ridiculous. What about the parents who have made arrangements for their children with the bell schedule we are on now. Now we have to turn around and make more arrangements a month into school. Not everyone's job revolves around the school board. I turned down a spot for my child to have after school care because of this schedule. Now I have to struggle to get back onto the waiting list and find my child care until I get off of work. The teachers do a great job don't get me wrong. But are we doing what is best for the children, or what is best for the School Board to keep their necks out of hot water. If they were unsure of this new bell schedule they should have never implemented it, and then there would not be this scramble. Lady Margarita I understand how you feel about having to take off work because of plans changing. Because this is what I may be having to do if I cannot find my daughter childcare after school. I will have to take leave everyday at 200. Basically what I am saying is make up your minds on the bell schedule School Board so that the teachers, parents, and children can move on to more important things. Like the education of our children! Sad so sad!

Interesting how Tim Clark and Charlie Wood suddenly is in favor of changing back to the old schedule and now is saying that they need to negotiate with the teacher union. Is because Mr. Wood is suddenly realizing that he will more than likely loose the Set. 23 election because of this bad publicity? They have had 6 months to negotiate with the teachers and an entire summer to decide this bell schedule issue. Incompetence in incompetence no matter how you look at it. kdawq67 I am a teacher and I spend my free hours at home working on my lesson plans, grading papers, and various other things for my classroom. In addition I am taking a graduate class to improve my teaching skills. I am at school an hour before school starts and I am usually there 30 minutes to an hour after. I had to take a half a day off to go to a doctors appointment because the bell schedule changed just 4 days before school started. Had the schedule not changed I would not have had to do that ad the appointment had been made 3 months prior to the bell schedule change. It was an inconvenience. I am dedicated to my students and work hard to give them a good education. So don't tell me I am whining.
