SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - A woman charged with practicing nursing without a license has missed a court appearance and a judge has issued a warrant for her arrest.

Authorities cited 49-year-old Suzanne Johnson of Pleasant Plains with the misdemeanor last month after Searcy School District officials learned she didn't have a nursing license. She failed to show for a Thursday court appearance.

Johnson, also known as Suzanne Pitts, worked at Sidney Deener Elementary for five years, treating sick children. She was arrested July 10 and bonded out the same day.

A Searcy district judge doubled her bond to $1,000 and ordered her arrest.

The Daily Citizen reports a school district attorney at the hearing said the district will do all it can to help with Johnson's prosecution.

Don't know Butch; but looking at the bags under her eyes, I'd say she's been getting into he medicine cabinet too often.

Isn't that the woman that's running for office in Pine Bluff.

I'm curious about the rest of the story. The part we haven't been told about. How did this woman get a job as a nurse with the Searcy school district? Who was responsible for checking her background? Busted twice for this before! WHO gave her the job? Connections? A little payola involved? Hey Fox, hound Searcy 'till we get all the story.

Can't remember where I heard it; but she's been busted for this same thing in 2 other states. Will she go back to one of her old haunts? Will she try a 4th state to "practice" in? Or as golfdude suggested, Mexico? Down there, she can pay off someone to be a nurse. Kind of wondering if that's what she did in Searcy.
