MAGNOLIA, AR - Police are continuing an investigation into the theft of five horses, a livestock trailer, and other equipment from Mulerider Stables at Southern Arkansas University, according to a release.

According to reports, the theft took place on November 2. The trailer was found in Tom, Oklahoma the following night, but none of the five horses have been found. The horses were owned by SAU students who are members of the University's nationally competitive collegiate rodeo team.

"We are doing everything we can to locate these valuable and loved horses," said SAU President Dr. David Rankin. "The loss of these horses is very personal to our students, and we are all hoping and praying for their safe return."

"The SAU Police Department is working with numerous local, county and state law enforcement agencies regarding the theft," said SAU Police Chief Eric Plummer. "Leads are coming in to the police department, and we are developing those leads so that we may have a successful resolution to this case."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact SAU Police Department at (870) 235-4100 or Arkansas State Police Investigator Hays McWhirter at (870) 703-2065.

It’s not the old west; the first priority is to get these horses back to their owners and let the laws handle the punishment. We need to in steal the Ten Commandments in our children, Pledge of Allegiance and put prayer back in school. No one has the right to steal anything much less a pet that is worth more than money.
