Robinson is having a major milestone birthday, and instead of a celebration for herself, she's throwing a bash to honor 40 people who have made a difference in her life for her 40th birthday.
Because of a story aired on FOX 16 News, a private investigator reached out to help Katina Robinson find her foster mom.
Katina says now that's she's found her former foster mom, Michelle Scott, the last piece of the puzzle is complete. Robinson was living in a group home when she was 12 years old and couldn't remember Michelle's last name, but she's been trying to track her down to tell her how much she's impacted her life. "Who I am has a lot to do with Michelle being positive and telling me how important I was."
Michelle tells Katina, "You still are."
After sharing her search struggles with FOX 16, Stacy Lynch, a private investigator came forward to help. "We were able to narrow it down, and luckily the first phone call I made when I came across several numbers ended up being Michelle."
Katina is now able to pay tribute to Michelle when she turns 40 next week. "Here is Michelle's invitation to the 40th birthday tribute party!" Michelle says she will definitely be there. She says she hoped to touch just one person while working as a foster mom. "It turns out wonderful regardless of how it started out. How it ends up is what matters. "
Katina says she always knew this day would come. "I knew I would find her before this party."
Katina is grateful Lynch saw the story and was able to help her find Michelle. "All the years I could still hear her voice telling me those wonderful things." Michelle says, "Praise God that it stuck."
Katina says that positive attitude and learning to never give up hope, is something she credits to Michelle. "Many thanks for all you've done. Words can't express how much you mean to me. Thanks for showing me love when it seemed no one else could."
Love between a foster mom and daughter now picking up right where it left off 27 years ago.
Katina's 40th birthday tribute bash is Saturday, June 1st. She says she can't wait to introduce Michelle to the rest of her friends and family.
