Person drowns on Beaver Lake
BENTON COUNTY, AR-- The body of a Springdale drowning victim is now headed to the coroner's office after the second tragedy on Beaver Lake in two days. Benton County's dive team recovered the body of 20-year-old Dave Hart who drowned while swimming with friends and family at Rocky Branch Marina Saturday evening.

The 911 call came into Benton county at around 6:20 pm, which deputies say would have been only about a minute and a half after Hart went under. Crews estimate it took about 10 minutes for rescuers to get to the scene, since it's in a rather secluded area. Hart's body was recovered at around 8:30 p.m., about two hours after he went under.

Benton County authorities tell us Hart was swimming in the authorized swimming area When he went underneath the water and never resurfaced. We now know he was not wearing a life jacket.

Kesiah Guyll, with the Benton County Sheriff's Office says alcohol was not a factor. "It's terrible," says Guyll. "We want people to come out and have a good time in our lakes, and when something like this happens, it's a terrible, terrible situation."

Hart's body has now been sent to the Benton county coroner. This is the first drowning this season at Beaver Lake. There were five last year.

This is the second death in two days at Beaver Lake. Friday afternoon, an explosion killed a 23 year old woman.
