Set of old graves at site of new Garland Co. Jail

There are four graves at the Highway 270 west location where Garland County plans to build its new jail, and County Judge Rick Davis said the county must eventually decide whether to leave them where they are or remove them.

Regardless of how many or how old these graves may be, they deserve the same respect that anyone would expect to be shown to their own loved ones. I would hope that the same respect be shown in this case. If there were family graves on the property I own I would make every effort to find descendants before I would allow something like this to happen. RESPECT, not something people seem to have alot of anymore. I have spent hours photographing gravestones and placing online so that a family that no longer lives in the area might find a descendant, a loved ones final resting place.Debbie

Might I suggest checking with the local Historical Soc about who is buried there, or the local Geneolgy Soc. If all else fells check the US GEN PROJECT, go to AR, then the County and check Cemetery Listings. Waa-laa.
