CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — An area in northern Faulkner County where a number of small earthquakes have been recorded in recent months has produced still more.
The U.S. Geological Survey said that, after six quakes were recorded Friday, three quakes were recorded Saturday, three more on Sunday and four on Monday, all in the vicinity of the community of Guy.
According to USGS, these quakes were recorded, listed by day, time and magnitude:
Saturday: 2:04 a.m., 1.6 magnitude; 4:43 a.m., 3.5 magnitude; and 9:29 a.m., 1.6 magnitude.
Sunday: 1:40 a.m., 1.4 magnitude; 1:41 a.m., 1.8 magnitude; and 10:14 p.m., 2.2-magnitude.
Monday: 6:26 a.m., 2.4 magnitude; 8:36 a.m., a 2.3 magnitude; 9:29 a.m., 2.6 magnitude; and 1:25 p.m., 2.1-magnitude.
No damage or injuries were reported.
Researchers say quakes of 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude are typically the smallest felt by humans.
A number of small earthquakes in the area have been reported for months, and geologists have installed sensors to better understand why the quakes are occurring.
Officials have said the cause is unclear.
