LITTLE ROCK, AR – Severe weather in eastern Arkansas damaged a building in Clarendon, according to the National Weather Service. The report says parts of the building could be found in the street.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says that the entire town of Clarendon was without power and that their communications system was down. Entergy is reporting more than 2,000 customers without power in the area. They expect it to be restored by 2am on Thursday.

A weather spotter reported a tornado was located about 5 miles east of the town as the storm cell passed through Monroe County.

Extra troopers from the Arkansas State Police went to Clarendon, according to the NWS.
