Sheriff: Girl forced to have sex to pay for mother's drug habit

HOPE, AR - Hempstead County Sheriff's investigators have arrested a 65-year-old man and 35-year-old woman after the woman's daughter told them she had been forced to have sex with the man from the time she was 13 years old.

The girl, now 17, told investigators that from the time she was 13 years old until she was 16, she had been forced to have sex with Bobby Parks to help pay for her mother's drug habit and pay household bills.

She says she had to get high to make it through the encounters and that her mother, Danette Moore, gave her methamphetamine and other drugs to go and preform sexual acts with Parks so he would pay bills for them.

Her grandmother, who is now dead, first sent her to Parks for sex to help pay bills while her mother was in prison, according to investigators. The girl says her mother, once out of prison, continued to make her go to Parks to support the mother's drug habit and to pay bills.

Parks has been arrested and charged with rape and sexual indecency with a child and Moore has been charged with permitting the abuse of a minor.

Both Parks and Moore are in the Hempstead County Detention Center. A bond of $50,000 was set for Danette Moore on February 21, 2012 with a Circuit Court Date of March 12, 2012. Parks, who was arrested today, is still awaiting a first court appearance.
