LONOKE, AR - Lonoke County investigators believe a man arrested in Ward is responsible for cellphone store burglaries in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Michael Grand, 24, is suspected to be behind burglaries in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Cabot, Beebe, Stuttgart, Magnolia and Lonoke, as well as burglaries in other states.

According to Lt. James Kulesa with the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, Grand is suspected of taking around $300,000 worth of smart phones and iPads from the businesses.

Sheriff John Staley says this is a widespread investigation involving numerous agencies and states.

Grand is currently being held at the Lonoke County Detention Facility.

He is still a worthless thief. No sympathy from me. I hate the fact that my tax dollars will be used on his sorry ass.

Everyone saying he wouldn't work... I worked with him at Russell Cellular, and knew him after working at other places. I took over the store he was managing after he was there, and I can tell you that we did NOT have any missing phones at that time. He makes BAD decisions. He's young and stupid. He is cocky and I have gotten the impression from him that he thought he was untouchable, but I would never have pegged him for such a huge amount of theft, though. Maybe having to pay for his actions will humble him and teach him, but all of this name calling is just uncalled for.

I worked with him when we think all this started. The company I work for has 20 stores in our district and he hit quite a few of them. He was a manager and stole $50,000 worth of merchandise and $15,000 in cash, just from his store. After being fired and charges being pressed he started hitting up the other store where he stole merchandise and stole cash when he had the employee go to the back to look for an item. So to the person that said he can't get a job, he has always had a job as long as I have known him. But seriously, he is worthless. He steals from his friends as well. All for drugs. It's about time he got caught.

To everyone leaving hateful comments, its easy to say that when you don't know a person. I'd never suspect he would be capable of something like this. At heart he is a good person that just did something really, really, REALLY stupid. He deserves every bit of penalty under the law just like anyone else would, but I hope he can repay his debt to society with grace and safely serve whatever sentence he receives in peace. The real victim here is not Russell Cellular, but his young son that will not have his dad around during his early childhood when he needs him the most. Like Omar said it really is such a waste as he is a really friendly, smart, funny guy. Sometimes people really are either evil or greedy that leads them to committing crimes, but sometimes good people are enticed to venture way to far down the wrong path, and I completely believe this is one of those instances. He is not hillbilly at all, not white trash, as long as I have known him he's always had a job, and once again he's not the guy i'd suspect to be on a page like this. He's just stupid for thinking something like this was a good idea or that he'd get away with it, and for that he will pay the price. I hope he learns his lesson and before too long his son will get back the father he deserves.

Its obvious that this piece of garbage refuses to get a job, pay taxes and do the right thing. Take him out of existence and dont let his sorry ass be a burden on the tax payers. What a piece of trash. I hope one of the states he committed crimes in has the back bone to treat him like a criminal.
