CLARKRIDGE, AR - Baxter County deputies arrested a man after they say he threaten his wife and kids then locked them in a basement overnight.
According to witness statements, the incident started as an argument between 26-year-old Justin Lee Hutson and his wife Friday night. Sheriff John Montgomery says Hutson tried to force his children, ages 4 and 5, into a vehicle. When his wife tried to stop him, the Sheriff says, Hutson forced her in the ground and kicked her before forcing her into the vehicle and threatening to shoot her and the kids.
After driving around for several hours, Sheriff Montgomery says Hutson returned home, took his wife's mobile phone and locked her and the kids in the basement.
Saturday morning Hutson allowed his wife to call her sister " to avoid any suspicion," the Sheriff says, and she managed to covertly alert her sister she was in trouble.
Hutson was arrested without incident and charged with domestic battery, endangering the welfare of a minor, interference with emergency communications, terroristic threatening and false imprisonment.
