LONOKE, AR - A woman was assaulted and shot twice in the leg during a date with a man she says she met on Facebook, according to the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office.

The 20-year-old woman told investigators that the date ended up on a farm road off of Highway 165, north of Keo, Saturday night. She said that while parked on the farm road, her date, 20-year-old Harold Ray Moore, assaulted and shot her.

Moore was arrested Monday in Little Rock and charged with 1st degree battery.

The woman was treated at UAMS and released.

Meeting up with some stranger on social networks is comparable to playing Russian roulette. Facebook is well known as a dangerous place to meet and trust strangers.....in my personal opinion.

while it's pretty stupid to go for a drive with someone you've never met, I wonder why he wasn't charged with assault w/ a deadly weapon, first degree battery and attempted murder? If you shoot anyone, anywhere unless it's in self defense, you should get an att. murder charge.

Love it ArkYank, Facebook? Really? I have never understood why people want to put their pics, kids pics, and info out for sale. Well, at least the surgery residents at UAMS got a little practice.

I fail to agree with some. The ladies seem to like a man that will beat that bottom these days. They should quit playing that stuff. Us men don't understand your mixed messages. Act like you want to be treated.
