LITTLE ROCK, AR - Pulaski County Sheriff Doc Holladay sent one of his investigators to Garland County Friday to gather information about accusations made against one of his deputies.

According to a Garland County Sheriff's Office report, Pulaski County Deputy Corey Lawson became upset with his girlfriend at the Brady Mountain Resort in Garland County, pushed her, and then rammed his truck into a gate twice, tearing it down. Since then, Holladay put Lawson on paid administrative leave and launched an internal investigation.

Holladay says it's too early to say whether he will continue to employ Lawson if the allegations are proven true. He says he will make that call once the internal investigation is complete.

"It reflects on all of law enforcement, all of the law enforcement agencies," said Holladay, "because many people in the public have a tendency to lump everybody together."

As for the destroyed gate, Brady Mountain workers say it'll cost more than $5000 to fix, and that's a fix Holladay says shouldn't be necessary in the first place.

"I'm not happy that it occurred," he said. "I'm not happy that one of our employees was involved, and I would've thought that he would've known better."

Lawson did not immediately return a call seeking comment. At this time, he does not face criminal charges.

"a tendancy to lump everyone together" with good reason!...cops should be held to higher standard not a lower one. It truly is "who you know" in this state of democrat thugs

IT SAID HE PUSHED HER IN THE INITIAL REPORT....NEVER SHOULD HAVE PLACED HANDS ON HER REGARDLESS. WHO WERE THE WITNESSES?

Will he get to keep his job if this happened? Let's see, a LRPD officer gets popped for DWI in Bryant, threatens the arresting officers and acts in a manner that would've gotten a regular citizen locked up. The judge drops the threatening charge, and officer gets to keep his job and says the arresting officers had no right to arrest or charge him. A whole bunch of LEOs get popped in Delta Blues with a long list of serious charges and they get sentences a regular offender couldn't have dreamed of. I'm guessing he'll get to keep his job, and get a raise and/or promotion within a year, or he'll be canned and get another job in law enforcement within a month. Apparently, the standards that citizens are held to are too much for local LEOs and we should continue to expect this type of abuse.
