LONOKE COUNTY, AR – Officials from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office are asking for help identifying the suspect of an early October assault.

According to reports, the Sheriff’s Office received a call about an assault around 7:30 am on October 6. The incident took place at a service station located at the intersection of Highway 31 and Highway 8 when a 69-year-old man pulled in to get gas, and was attacked by two male suspects who were riding in a black Chevy S-10 type vehicle. The driver of the S-10 punched the victim while the passenger struck him with a bat. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police say the victim was taken to Springhill Baptist Hospital. Further investigation identified the driver of the S-10 as 42-year-old Darrell Dewayne Eddy of Cabot. Eddy was arrested on October 14 for aggravated assault and 2nd degree battery. Eddy refused to identify the second suspect who struck the victim with the bat.

Investigators are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the second suspect in the assault. Anyone with information are asked to contact the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office at (501) 676-3000 or (501) 676-3002.

If the scumbag won't identify the bat wielding attacker that was with him, pursue even more heavy charges against him. By not identifying him, isn't that considered harboring a criminal?

It would be nice to have some kind of a clue what this person looks like. We weren' even told what race either one is. Almost as if it was left out on purpose. Has it come to the point that people are afraid to describe a person? For fear of ofending someone or loosing their job, because they may be acused of being racist. It is too hard to keep up with what words you can and can not say any more. Is this the reason there was no description at all.

I guess they hope someone saw something and will come forward. Or maybe they could hope this fool will brag about it to someone else and they will come forward. I doubt the latter though. What cowardly punk would brag about doubling up on an elderly person and then having to use a baseball bat. Most intelligent Know there are ways to get info on a suspect without a hard description of him. I hope these guys get some special sentencing guide lines due to him being a senior.

How do you expect your readers to identify someone if you don't give them a description? I know for a fact that there is a surveillance video of the suspect beating the victim, how about posting a couple shots of that? Probably just more racial censorship by Fox 16. Facts can be ignored but their consequences cannot be escaped. If the facts don't matter, this means that the people who are going to have to pay those consequences don't matter.
