LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police responding to a shooting call Wednesday morning ended up arresting the suspect on numerous felony drug charges.
According to the police report, officers responded to Loetcheser and Southboro around 9:46am. In the report, a witness says she saw two men in the street, one standing over another with a gun.
Police arrived and went to a home on 5200 Southboro Drive. Inside they found 26-year-old Shataze Tart. Tart says two men kicked in his door and began beating him (police noted in the report that the rear door was kicked open). Tart told police he fought them off, followed them into the street, and shot at them one time.
Police report that there was a gunshot victim at St. Vincent Hospital.
Tart was arrested for contempt of court, possession of marijuana with intent, simultaneous possession of guns and drugs, maintaining a drug premises, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest report says 3.5 pounds of marijuana was found in the home.
The man suspected of breaking into Tart’s home, and who was shot in the leg, is 30-year-old Clinton Withers. Police say Withers is expected to recover.
