HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say human remains have been found near a pickup truck that belongs to a man reported missing earlier this year.

Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss says someone spotted a black pickup truck Wednesday afternoon in White County and called it into authorities. Moss says the truck belongs to 63-year-old James Ellworth Rainerson, who was reported missing in mid-May.

The Batesville Daily Guard reports that skeletal remains were found near the truck in a rural wooded area Wednesday. Authorities are still waiting positive identification of the remains.

Authorities say Rainerson was last seen May 12 at his home in Cabot as he was heading out to Heber Springs to pick up medication.
