well that's good to hear...I wish whoever had done that would have just said it was a coyote and not a dog. Would have saved a lot of trouble and tax $$$...But then again, I can't blame them for keeping quiet, some animal activists are just idiots and might have terrorized the person for skinning a coyote.

There is nothing wrong with what they did to this animal. It looks like a car killed it and then the dead animal was used for its pelt. Is that somehow worse than allowing it to rot on the side of the road? So this was not just "ok", if it had to die then at least something was gained from its death.

The only possible crime could have been illegal dumping. But I wouldn't put it past a PETA member to have the bright idea of doing something like this if they discovered the carcass in the woods to start a big scene. Cause even the dumping doesn't make sense. Why would they dump the carcass when it was "case" skinned into some anonymous trash can? If somebody took the time to skin one of these things out and the effort to drive it somewhere to dispose of it, why do it in such a way as to make a big scene out of it? The person with the education to skin it proplery would surely know how to dispose of it. If not, shame on him for causing these domesticated people to trip over reality.

They could have taken the time to explain that it wasn't "mutilated", and that they are NOT dropping any case, but instead there isn't anything wrong here with the animal being skinned, because coyote season is open and this animal wasn't wasted, but that it's resources were used. We are so domesticated. Think about how far removed you are from using the resources of our natural resources the next time sit in a leather seat.

There used to be a bounty on coyote hides . Dont know if thats true now. Game and fish has open season on them when there is a legal gun season open. No limit. They kill the fawns and small deer. Also Turkeys and their nest with eggs.

In answer to sparrowhawk, it is legal to hunt/kill coyote in Arkansas if you have a license...they do not have the same legal protection or emotional compassion connection as with dogs...and since it turns out this animal did not appear to have been tortured, I suppose it appears "ok"...sad but the realityh

I don't see how it makes any difference.
