QUITMAN, Ark. (AP) — Another small earthquake has been reported in an area of central Arkansas that has become prone to tremors.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 2.9 magnitude quake was recorded just before 11 a.m. Monday about three miles west-southwest of Quitman. A Cleburne County sheriff's dispatcher says the office received no reports of injuries or damage.
Four small temblors shook the area Nov. 4, the strongest of which had a 2.4 magnitude. Six were reported in the area a week earlier .
Geologists say earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.
