QUITMAN, Ark. (AP) — Several small earthquakes have been recorded in an area of central Arkansas where temblors were reported last week.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 2.5-magnitude quake struck at 5:07 a.m. Thursday about four miles west-southwest of Quitman. The survey also reported a tremor with a 2.2 magnitude, and two 2.1-magnitude quakes in the same area on Wednesday.
A 1.8-magnitude earthquake was reported on Tuesday.
A Cleburne County sheriff's dispatcher said she didn't know if any injuries or damage had been reported with the quakes.
Last week, the survey recorded a 3.4-magnitude temblor near Quitman, which is located about 45 miles north of Little Rock.
Geologists say earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.
