if they are let in to arkansas it will be to late to change our minds , once they come in they will never leave and will continue to expand, the only people they benefit (evidently) are the owners we have enough problems with parents not staying home or paying attention to their children, think about the children people, we got plenty of Jobs in arkansas , we dont have people who want to work , we have people who want hand outs. all casinos do is rob the poor, gambling is addictive and wrecked alot of peoples lives how come we're not hearing these aspects of gambling , you give these companies an inch they will never quit til they get the whole population, never put your self in a position where you cant undo something ,

We need these jobs! Heartless factories have moved south or overseas. Look at Mt. Pine, a ghost town. We gave our lives to these companies. A casino can't move to Mexico! It can bring up to 1500 jobs to an area. Can a Mexican Company do that? NO! Have they offered? NO! We need EMPLOYMENT!I challenge the governor or anyone to find a company that can give us employment without moving out of the country in 18 years, leaving out to dry when it comes time to retire. You can have a casino, without having alcohol, it's been done. Look at Barona Casino in San Diego.

The more publicity about this "no casinos" group the better. They are just energizing the people that might have ignored the petitions but now will seek them out to sign. This is the normal way to get things on the ballot and is not reserved for the "tax and spenders" who usually try to get their agenda voted on. The people will decide in November if the petitions are validated in July. More power to the petitioners.

If this matter comes to a vote, do not vote in favor of casinos simply because you think it will benefit our state. You are deluding yourself if you think any of that revenue will be spent on the people of Arkansas. That money goes into the pockets of the casino owners. Sure, there are taxes that go to the state, but those taxes pay the salaries of the gaming commission employees. Look at Mississippi-the only improvements they have gotten are the roads leading to the casinos. They are still #1 in poverty for our nation. And Louisianna is not much better. Be careful what you wish for....As for me, I enjoy going to Tunica and Vegas simply because they're trips to enjoy getting away from home for a little while.

This group needs to form a caravan to help Mr Cella at Oaklawn carry all the money he is taking from the people of Arkansas back to his home in St. Louis. Oaklawn is a full fledged casino and anyone who thinks otherwise is either ignorant of the business or blind. Wide open dealer Blackjack, Poker and other table games are no different than Las Vegas or Tunica. The slots are programed to pay back whatever percentage the house wants which at Oaklawn is very little. At least the people trying to open new casinos are honest about it. So called "Games of Skill" is not skill if the house has all the percentages in it's favor.

Hot Springs so called casino is a rip off, as is the horse track and don't care for either one. I would love to see some "real" casino's come to Arkansas, and welcome them with open arms and my money (when I can afford to go), lol... Look at all the money that is leaving Arkansas going to other states for gambling. Lets keep some of it here in Arkansas and put some of it to good use, like feeding the homeless, homeless shelters, domesic violence victims, education, medical, dental and prescriptions, our military men, women and families who need help from serving in the war, and for the elderly who can't afford it. Lets take care of Arkansas and it's people for once instead of taking care of sending our money where it don't belong. Those who don't like gambling do not have to partake and can spend their money elsewhere or save it. It all boils down to responsible spending and dicipline. Casino's in Arkansas has my vote!

I have lost almost everything I have to Oaklawn. I do not want any more casinos. I am a true troubled gambler who will never stop. I moved from Louisiana to get away from them. I live in Hot Springs, no sooner than I moved here and established my business, they started it here at Oaklawn. There are so many people like me who's lives will be ruined by casinos. They need to outlaw the Oaklawn rip-off's as well. Not regulated at all like Louisiana was at least. They just take your money and get richer while me and my family do without. Will just have to move out of state to somewhere that doesnt allow gambling I guess.
