Student arrested at high school on rape charges

A student was arrested and charged with one count of rape Wednesday morning for an alleged sexual assault that happened at the North Little Rock High School West Campus.

This is North Little Rock Old Main High School, where in 1957 AR Governor Orval Faubus called out troops from the Arkansas National Guard to prevent the now famous "Little Rock 9" black students from entering the school under Federal court order. The black students were also followed by mobs making threats to lynch. Whites at the time predicted that eventually blacks would behave so criminally that it would not be safe for white students, especially white girls, to attend school there. Among the fears were of black boys feeling up white girls in halls and stairways. Now as predicted, the school is a cesspool of criminal behavior with gangs, violence, drugs, sexual assaults, and now even this rape. There has long been virtually no white students attending North Little Rock Central High due to white flight. Of course there has been an media unwritten law prohibiting any mention of "I told you so," regardless that the predictions came true.

Obviously there are some supervision issues on campus, but he was charged as an adult so nothing wrong with showing his photo, he is still innocent until proven guilty like anyone else. As for the young lady, it is generally not proper to release an alleged rape victims name, use your head.

I think this is very crazy, how did this young man manage to "rape her" in the classroom and no one else was around to hear ANYTHING or see it?? Maybe the young lady told Womack to meet her somewhere and agreed to have sex, and didn't tell the truth once it was brought upon authorities. Maybe she was afraid to tell her Mother/Father what really happened because she didn't want to get in trouble, so she accused Womack of raping her! Since they've given out Womack's name, they should also give out the young lady's name. Instead of throwing all the young teens in jail, they NEED to be in School!

I think they should have held off posting his picture until it was proven that this young lady was indeed raped. If she was raped then prosecute him to the fullest. It does not matter what young or old ladies wear, no one should be subjected to rape.

wildcat95 what I wanna know is how do you KNOW for a FACt THAT THIS HAPPENED? Were u there? and if the teacher was only gone a few minutes and if the girl was trying to defend herself how could he have actually "raped her" another thing is how can he be held in jail with NO BOND off of an alleged rape.. This is TROY DAVIS ALL OVER again if u ask me. If the fast tail girls will stop walking around here exposing themselves, putting themselves on the market etc... they wouldnt be such easy targets. IJS. I was at NLRHS just last year which was my sr year and have been there for all of my high school years and i know how the girls get down... so come on now! This doesnt make sense. I'm Lady B and i approve this message

I kind of figured, his life has been made out before his 18th birfday. U get that? Ha. His rape charge will be his life-line of future actions. You start young, you end old.
