I agree with its just. No full blown jail. Community service right out in front of all the students. That will make a lasting impression on them.

kids are stupid...I remember we had bomb threats all of the time when I was in high school. That was in the early 90's.

There would be a cause and affect for sending teenagers to jail as well. Not sure what the answer is - community service of picking up trash, cleaning the high school grounds before and after school and games, no extra curricular activities for the rest of the school year, etc. but not jail - not adult jail.

I love it when a criminal stands in front of that judge and tells how he made a mistake. I fail to see the humor in it. We all know including the judge it was their best planning. The only mistake here was failing to realize their actions and best thinking was sending them to jail.

lock them up and and leave them there for about 5 years. they will think twice before pulling a prank like this next time.

Cause and affect, action and reaction. These kinds of so called pranks start a whole chain reaction of events that often aren't understood by those doing them. A school is evacuated, emergency responders rush to the scene to prevent loss of life, along the way there's a car crash, special needs students are put in harm's way in high tempertures, a med flight chopper is dispacthed and breaks on landing. Students lives are in greater danger because response times are extended. The list of cause and affect events grows longer and more lives are put in danger as the clock ticks until it's discovered it's "just a prank". If lives were lost, well, do you think they would understand how they caused that? No. Educate and punish to the full extent of the law with the hope that this lesson will make them better human beings and productive members of society in the future, because right now they aren't.

I dont give a rats ass if "they thought this was cute or funny", this is a serious issue these days. Throw them out of school, lock their lil bad asses up and make them pay for every dime spent on their "lil joke." Lil bastards need to be taught a lesson and made an example out of.

Pardon me; "mistake"; it's early and I'm still half asleep.

Well, at least one of them could write! Yeah, they made a "misake" allright. Maybe the AR educational system should eliminate some of the "feel good" classes, and have an hour everyday of reading the paper, watching the news, and learning what happens to idiots that do things like this.
