HOT SPRINGS COUNTY, AR – Officials from the Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man suspected of the rape of a 32-year-old female relative.
According to a police report, the victim claimed that a 54-year-old relative had spent the night of May 1 in her home. After her husband left for work the following morning, the victim told police she was in the bathroom getting dressed when the suspect entered the bathroom and demanded sex. When the victim refused, the suspect forced her into the bedroom and sexually attacked her.
Detectives began searching for the suspect shortly after getting the report around 8:00 am on May 2. The suspect was eventually found by other relatives in Hot Springs, and was taken into custody, where police say he is expected to be charged with rape.
The suspect and the victim have not yet been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
