LITTLE ROCK, AR – One man has been charged with negligent homicide after an accident on Cantrell road left one person dead and three others hospitalized.

According to reports, Demetrius Brown is now being charged with negligent homicide and carrying certain prohibited weapons after the May 24th accident left one woman dead and three others, including a four-year-old, injured.

Police say Brown appeared to be unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech on the scene. A 9mm beretta was found on Brown as he was being taken into custody.

Brown’s bond is set at $1,000,000.00. He plead not guilty to both charges in Little Rock District Court Tuesday.

The case was sent to circuit court for a hearing on July 30th.

Looking at his piture, he appears not concerned about the killings and injuries, including a 4 year old child. Who is this guy?

I am sure he is well off and had enough insurance to take care of all ,you can't replace a life ,but the family need to be taken care of.

because he intentionally drove like a maniac and killed and harmed innocent people in the process, he should be charged with intentional homocide or 2nd degree murder..people weren't killed because he "accidently" drove like an idiot..a car is as dangerous of a weapon as a gun..I see it no differently than if he was waving his 9 mm around those people and it went off...pathetic charge, given the way he was driving.

incorrect Charlie. LRPD initially said a 2nd person died, but then realized the mistake and clarified only 1 person died.

Why hasn't the story been updated? A second person died from injuries in this accident the following day.

well he is done for a while. he will get about 10 years and do about 3 of them. sad but it wasnt murder so i guess they charged him right. he must not have been on drugs or alchohol because they would have tested him im sure after the accident. unstable and slurred speach? he was just in an accident that could be the cause of that. he should be charged with the injuries also however they can make the charge. he shouldnt get away with injuring innocent people like that
