The man accused of shooting a Conway police officer faces more charges. During a hearing Harley Inthisone's sister's talked exclusively to FOX16. Inthisone didn’t have anything to say but the judge had a lot to say, he ordered no bond for Inthisone. He is still in the Faulkner County detention center.
Instead of two counts of attempted capital murder, the judge announced Inthisone faces 4 counts. Inthisone's sisters were in court and said their brother needs mental help.
"You know, from the bottom, we're sincerely sorry for what happened that has to lead this far, we're sorry." Harley Inthisone's sister sends this message out to Conway Police Officer Matt Kimery and his family.
Police say Inthisone shot Kimery as he answered a call about a trespasser at an apartment on Martin’s street. Kimery is recovering in the hospital. As for Inthisone, he went before a judge Thursday where he was charged with 4 counts of attempted capital murder. One count for Kimery's shooting and the other charges because police say he fired shots at three other officers.
Inthisone's sister didn't want to give her name but says he's had a troubled past that has often led to violence.
"He's been prosecuted before. I had turned him in before to get help for him and the facility was too full and they released him," Inthisone’s sister said.
Since that time Inthisone's sister says things seem to have gotten worse. Still, they never thought it would come to him shooting a police officer.
"We just hope that they don't lock him up and throw away the key, that they will actually get him some kind of psychiatric help in there."
Inthisone will appear in court again April 27th. That's when prosecutors will present their case to have Inthisone's probation from a previous charge revoked. His pre-trial hearing is set for June 22nd.
