Benton Police have arrested two men on numerous felony charges after catching them with stolen items on a stolen trailer.

An officer noticed a truck pulling a utility trailer slowly through a neighborhood near Alcoa Road and Benton Parkway just after 2:00 Monday morning, and after observing a traffic violation, tried to stop the driver.

The driver refused to stop for the officer and drove out of the city limits on Highway 183, where they were stopped by Saline County Sheriff's Deputies.

Investigation determined that 23-year-old Justin Brown of Little Rock (pictured, left) and 21-year-old Michael Arras of Bryant were in possession of numerous items that had recently been stolen from homes in Benton just before the officer saw them, including the trailer.

Both Brown and Arras were charged with residential burglary, breaking or entering, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a weapon, and possessing an instrument of crime.

Arras was also charged with fleeing.

The suspects were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without further incident.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and further charges could be forthcoming in the case.  Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS. Individuals also may send an anonymous tip to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text or go to www.crimereports.com and submit a tip there.
