FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Three Arkansas football players who are charged with felonies for allegedly burglarizing their fellow students' room have entered not guilty pleas in Washington County Circuit Court.
Wide receivers Marquel Wade and Maudrecus Humphrey and tight end Andrew Peterson entered the pleas on Wednesday. Razorbacks coach John L. Smith says the three are not presently members of the football team but he'll reconsider their status once the legal process is complete.
Smith said earlier that the three had not enrolled in summer school.
Judge Ray Reynolds' office confirmed the players entered the not guilty pleas.
Three other Razorbacks have faced charges this spring, including lineman Jason Peacock, who was sentenced last week to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor for stealing a student's debit card.
Arkansas Head Coach John L. Smith issued this statement:
"Marquel Wade, Maudrecus Humphrey and Andrew Peterson are not members of our football team and once the legal system has ruled on their status we will determine their status with the team."
