Task Force Formed to Address Concerns of Mayflower Oil Spill Victims

Arkansas Attorney General's Office leading the effort.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A task force is being formed to address concerns of Mayflower oil spill victims.

Fox 16 News Contributor Roby Brock reports via Twitter that Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel announced during a news conference this afternoon that his office is creating what he called a "super-consumer" group.

McDaniel also used the gathering of the media to urge ExxonMobil to buy all homes affected by the spill while also commenting air monitors still show carcinogens in the air.

The AG says the process of helping homeowners whose property was damaged by the spill is "too complex."

McDaniel says too that his office is still waiting for an explanation from ExxonMobil about what caused its Pegasus pipeline to burst, spilling thousands of gallons of heavy crude in and around the Northwoods subdivision.
