This is a joke.. Teachers have been having sexual relations with their students since the beginnings of time. Heck, even my ex used to brag how she passed all of her classes in HighSchool and how she got her diploma from the University she attended by seducing her teachers and professors. She actually used to have a great paying job because, you guessed it, Sex with her Supervisors. This is why a lot of girls get great grades in schools. It's not that girls are smarter but rather, most of them are sleazy and easy when it comes to getting ahead in this world..

all i will say is this, if i had a 18 year old (still living in my house) under my roof and i found out he/she has been intimate with a GROWN ADULT (teacher) then thats where he/she would be staying, i dont understand what is going on with this generation of kids, thats not cool, how are the teachers even properly doing THEIR JOB if they are messing with the students, im just not understanding that, what 18 year old can properly do for themselves

I can't believe the number of people that think this relationship would be all right if the student is 18. Has no one ever heard of undue influence? If a person is in a position of power and/or authority over another person (such as a student/teacher relationship) it can not be consensual. I think it should be illegal as long as the teacher is employed at the school- and should be grounds for immediate termination. Can someone say statutory rape?

First we get national news attention for the HillBillery airport - now THIS !!!! OMG I moved to this state because I loved the Southern morals and standards !! What a bunch of idiots running this state !!! But - as long as the teacher resigns and never teaches again, I am fine with it.

Such double standards in our society. How can we even judge anyone on this. As parents, we are suppose to bring up our children with strong morals / respect / discipline and above all love and attention. Thats where it all begins. Thats where most are failing. You want to fix our problems, start with your kids at home. The family unit. Its the foundation of all socieities. "The family". We cannot judge these 2 people who are adults. We all live in glass houses. We dont have to agree with everything we see in our society but what shocks me and many others is how we quickly condem someone without really looking at the whole picture. Ignorance & Arrogance is the cause of all human mistakes & suffering. We all fall short.

This just tells me that Arkansas is another of the most unintelligent states in the U.S. Education is the first to go and the last to come back in hard economic times.

I agree also it should not be illegal, however, most schools have or should have a code of conduct policy stating that if a teacher has a consensual romantic relationship with a student who is 18, they will be terminated.

I agree with the ruling about consenting adults, but I also agree with the k-12 rule about acting professional, that undue attention or a personal relationship that could cause a controlling affect on the student or teacher for favoritism or unfair grading is unacceptable. That having been said, running into each other after no teacher/student relationship exists, would be 'all bets off' and 'the heart wants what the heart wants'. But I would be surprised if the relationship would last very long. But no one knows for sure.................
