TKnLrock, you are such a moron. How can you justify what the kid did? If he "was such a great kid", then why in the hell did he swipe the crackheads wallet? He knew it was wrong when he did it. As is everyone else, I am saddened that a young person died as a result of this, but BOTH parties were at fault here, not just one. If the 14 year old had been an older person, every f'ing one of you would have said the thief had what he had coming. But since it was a child, the ignorant bleeding hearts have been awaken. Stealing is stealing and it is wrong. Unfortunately this boy stole from a raging lunatic. But lets not turn this into a sympathy party.

What everyone is forgetting the teen STOLE MONEY from the man and ran off. Any normal person would chase a thief down anyway they could. The parents of the boy were irresponsible in NOT teaching their son the difference between right and wrong. Now they want justice?

I say that requiring a license for a law-abiding citizen to be able to legally carry a gun is as unconstitutional as requiring the payment of a poll-tax before someone is allowed to vote.

Fact: The suspect was living at the Acme Motel because he had been evicted from his address given in the article. Drugs (crack)& drug paraphernalia (a pipe) had been found in his apartment. When served with an IMMEDIATE eviction notice, this suspect threatened to do bodily harm to the manager of the apartments - so much so that he had to be forcefully removed by security & maintenance! Fact: The suspect is a towering 6'+ angry 'old' crackhead. The teenager was what, 5'+ at best? Fact: {for wpsark} It stopped being "intentional manslaughter" when this enraged crackhead pulled the teenager from beneath the wheels of his vehicle and proceeded to BEAT the young man. I suspect that, more than just the 'bumping' with the suspects vehicle, is what caused the boy's death. P.S. And yes, the suspect did have a gun. That was the secondary reason for his eviction - "No weapons allowed on the premises." - This irrational crackhead was a 'murder waiting to happen'. Just so sad that a 14 year old happen to be in his destructive path!

Hmm, two white men got into a fight in Clinton and one died when he was punched and his head hit the floor. The suspect was charged with only manslaughter. Down here, a black man killed a black kid that stole his wallet and is charged with 1st degree murder. Sounds like the murder charge was racially motivated.

People are fed up with being robbed with little hope for the case ever being solved. More and more people are afraid to go thru Little Rock with out some protection.I will not buy gas in any part of the city. This is one of the reasons for a lot of people getting carry permits for handguns and a lot of folks are not even bothering with a permit.More and more people are fed up and their reactions are not going to be good.

I feel very bad for the boy's parents and family but there is something here that we need to think about.First of all our system is not working,it was not set up for dealing with 40% of the population being trouble.Second, this kind of trouble is only going to make the city more of a cesspool. If you look at the # of unsolved cases you can see that the boy stood a real good chance of getting away with his crime and this drives people to do desperate things.I do not condone what the van driver did and at the same time, what do you think the driver would have done to the kid if he hadn't ripped his wallet out of his hands???
