BENTON, AR – 3 teenagers are charged with attempted capital murder in connection to the stabbing and carjacking of a Good Samaritan. The trio is also wanted in Saline County for a violent carjacking that took place earlier this week.

The teens charged are 17-year-old Blake Smith, 15-year-old Christopher Darden, and 15-year-old Hayley Thompson. They are accused of stabbing Bobby Strickland, and elderly man, who pulled over to help them with what appeared to be a broken down car. That is when Strickland was stabbed multiple times and his truck stolen.

The Saline County Sheriff’s office says earlier this week driver’s was choked and their car stolen. The three teens are suspected in other carjackings as well in the county, the sheriff says that they had a pattern of stealing cars, each time getting more violent.

Strickland was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from his wounds.

On Friday, a circuit county judge set each teen’s bond at $750,000. The trio remains in the Drew County Jail. In addition to the attempted capital murder, the teens are charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property, and theft by receiving.

I happen to know the 15-year old boy that was involved. He was a well mannered nice young man. Someone you never would have thought would do something like this. But you know what he did and he is very responsible for what he did. So he must accept the consequences for his part. They are all guilty. I don't care how troubled you are. We all have problems. None of us have perfect lives but that does not give us the right to go out on a crime spree. If you know the people your hanging out with is doing things that will get you in this type of situation stay away from them. That is the best solution. But you know ever one of these families can say their kids were hanging with the wrong crowd. But that does not make them any less responsible for what they did.

Yeah yeah yeah it is so easy to sit on your a** and throw out dumbass comments on people you don't even know. This girl is my niece and If you don't know what happen then you can't judge. Everyone makes mistakes and we all learn. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and didn't hurt anyone.Think about what you would say if it were your kid or your family.

I can think of more than a few young people I know with mental and emotional issues and they're just getting by on the daily without having to resort to beating up and stabbing old men. However, being incarcerated with the bigger, badder boys and girls tends to straighten out the ones with a modicum of sense left. Don't know about this group but they'd better get wise quickly where they're going.

Yes she is old enough to know right from wrong and as I said before yes she should be punished what these 3 did was wrong they all need to be held accountable for their actions my point is that there are other issues mental and emotional with this girl that need to be dealt with while she is incarcerated

While I can understand the young girl has recently gone through alot, the fact remains, she is old enough to know right from wrong.

I want to start by saying what these 3 did was wrong very wrong and yes they should be punished but I would also like to say I am a relative of the 15 year old girl and I am not condoning what she has done just trying to share my view -- in a period of 9 months her mother her father and her grandmother all three died she lost 3 of the closest people in her young life and has not really gotten over losing them this young girl has deep emotional and mental issues that need attention as well as punishment for her crimes again I am not trying to make excuses its just my opinion knowing a little bit about this girls life

This is un-believable. The parents of these kids should also be jailed and charged for the crimes of their kids. They are responsible for their actions til they are 18 yrs old. That will be making the parent take action and not allow the behavior of their kin, meaning their kids. These kids of the last 40 yrs or longer have been out of control and it shows in the schools and in the neighborhoods and in the homes. Don't say it is because of divorce or single parenting. That excuse or any is not good enough for me. They are just mean, not caring human beings. The Dope is the problem and I think everyone knows that. I am going to keep up with what happens with this case.
