TEXARKANA, AR – Police uncovered a large amount of marijuana at a Greyhound Bus Terminal during a routine safety check, according to a release.
According to reports, on February 18th 2012, officers with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Special Operations Unit located three suitcases containing a large amount of marijuana at the Greyhound Bus Terminal located at 405 East 51st Street.
Police say officer Jeff Savage and his K-9 partner officer Zorg were at the bus terminal conducting safety checks of the incoming buses when Zorg signaled an odor response, indicating that narcotics were possibly located inside three suitcases that were stored in the luggage bay of a bus.
Upon further investigation, Officer Savage found several wrapped bundles of marijuana in all three suitcases. The confiscated marijuana was approximately 116 pounds, worth an estimated $220,400.
The owner of the package was not found, and the investigation is ongoing.
