TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — The National Weather Says a tornado touched down in Horatio during the recent wave of storms that brought flooding to much of the state.
The National Weather Service office in Shreveport, La., says the tornado touched down Monday night. The tornado was comparatively weak, with winds of between 70 and 75 mph. That's an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.
But that was still strong enough to down trees and rip the shingles off the roof and a storage building along Arkansas 41.
The Texarkana Gazette reports the tornado was on the ground for about five minutes and traveled 75 yards.
