Towns turn to 'road diets' to slow busy traffic

It looks like any other road-improvement project: orange barrels, repaving equipment and men in fluorescent vests. But a closer look reveals something curious.

One more thing, when you folks in Harrison complain about those roads used for detours not rated to handle the heavy traffic and weight of Commercial Vehicle, don't come crying to me for more money for road repairs. Harrison God Fathers just had to make those roads wider and snuff out roadside parking just to get that 3 million or so dollars for road repairs, use it or lose it we always said in the Government. We? Did I say we? O' excuse me, 20 years Government employee with a Law Enforcement background, worked County Roads Department and drove approximately a million miles or darn close to it over the road, so what do I know! Harrison, LOOK AT ME? ANYONE IN DAR!

Now that it takes longer for someone to get to work, aggressive driving will be the result and more much more accidents.

I've watched small towns shrivel up and die because of a highway now takes traffic around it no longer through it. GO FIGURE!

Harrison? Another reason not to visit Harrison, don't have time to play stupid games after a long drive and more to go! Locals want to have downtown to yourselves, you can have the damn place, next stop Branson Mo!
