HOT SPRINGS, AR – The Garland County Sheriff’s Office is looking three people suspected of stealing grave markers and vases and selling them for scrap.

Dereck Loy, Steve Loy, and Mary "Destinee" James are wanted on 22 counts each of destruction or removal of a cemetery or grave marker, theft of property over $1,000, and theft by deception.

Crestview Cemetery is a solemn and sacred place.

All the more reason Donald Harrier was outraged to find his parents grave site robbed during his last visit.

"You come out here and you expect to put an arrangement of flowers into a nice vase as you see around here - only to find a hole in the ground," said Harrier.

Harrier isn't the only victim. 26 vases are reported missing from graves at the cemetery and investigators say there's no telling how many more haven't been reported yet."

Bryan Walker of Walker Auto Ranch says they bought the brass vases from the suspects, but also got a copy of their IDs, signatures claiming the items, thumb prints and even took a few pictures of all three suspects.

"The laws are set in place and they really can't get away with it," said Walker. "They pretty much signed their life away with the paper we make them sign."

Walker Auto Ranch lost more than $1,000 in the sale and Harrier is out a few hundred dollars for his parents flower urns but he says the emotional scarring of selling a symbol of remembrance for scrap goes much deeper.

"I just feel sorry for the people who did this," said Harrier. "That they would have enough disrespect for any human being to desecrate a grave.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call Investigator Graybeal at 501-622-3690.
