BEEBE, AR- Beebe Police are looking for two men they say assaulted two teenage girls Thursday night, one of them sexually. The mother of one of the victims speaks to FOX16 News about the attack and the police hunt to find the suspects.

A quiet north Beebe neighborhood now features extra police patrol after two teen girls, ages 13 and 15 were attacked on North Fir Street.

The mother of the 15-year old victim says the two girls were taking a walk around 8pm, just before dark last Thursday night

"We've always lived in Beebe. Beebe has always been a safe town, I grew up in Beebe,” she says. “So, it's just amazing we don't feel safe now."

Both girls say they noticed their attackers come out from behind a wall of the church across the street. They say once the men saw them, both of the men starting moving much quicker towards them."

According to police statements they tried to run down Fir Street but both suspects caught them and forced them into a roadside ditch. One raped, the other physically assaulted in the middle of the neighborhood.

"No one heard any screaming. And the girls were screaming when they were being attacked," Weeks says.

Detective Jeremy Weeks with the Beebe Police Department says they have sent evidence to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for testing to hopefully get a DNA match from the attackers.

"One of them had bite marks on her neck, scratches, both had injuries on their legs," Weeks says.

Beebe Police say one of the suspects is a black man over 6 feet tall, wearing all black, including a chain hanging from his jeans. The other suspect is described as a skinny white man around 5'8", wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and a backwards ball cap bearing the "Monster” drink logo.

"What grown man wants to attack and rape two young teenage girls? And it's changed her life forever," the mother says.

And the attack has changed the sense of safety in this White County town.

Detectives say the 13-year old was able to fight off her attacker and run for help.  Now police need help from the public.

Weeks says the headlights of a passing vehicle helped break up the attack but the driver did not stop.  Detectives are hoping that person comes forward with information.
