UALR Students Robbed at Gunpoint

The victims said the robber demanded money, but only got away with a phone.

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Campus police at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock need your help finding the man who robbed three students at gunpoint.

It happened Monday night at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house.

The students told detectives a man approached them with a gun and demanded cash and pointed a gun in the side of one of the students.

When they told him they didn't have cash, they said the robber took a phone and ran away.

The campus police chief said the University is still safe, but these kinds of things are likely to happen because the campus is open.

Chief Edward Smith said this is the time for students to brush up on their safety skills.

"We don't want somebody to be afraid to be out to go about their normal business, but we encourage people to be aware of their surroundings," UALR Police Chief Edward Smith said.

If you have any information, call campus police.
