UAMS says names of 7K patients mistakenly released

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences says a doctor mistakenly released about 7,000 patient names and information about their illnesses to a company doing a billing analysis.

Thanks to your tax money, UAMS employees and doctors lose hundreds of laptops and I-phones each year loaded with patient information on an unsecure email system and they continue to allow these people to exchange patient information with these devices

This is not the first time this has happened. I have a letter from them stating my private info was accidentally released. The letter was several months back and am sure was a different incident. Contact me if you would like to do an investigation on this. How many times does it have to happen befroe charges are brought?

I thought it was a Federal Law Violation called Hippa, that are "supposed" to be charged with a crime. Guess not if you are a Doctor.
