CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — The University of Central Arkansas will award honorary degrees to the parents of two students who were shot to death on campus in 2008.

The school will hold its spring commencement ceremony on Saturday afternoon. The school says it will award honorary associate degrees to the parents of Ryan Henderson and Chavares Block.

Henderson was an 18-year-old freshman from Little Rock while Block was a 19-year-old sophomore from Dermott. Both were shot outside a campus dorm on Oct. 26, 2008.

Four men entered plea agreements in connection with the shooting. The alleged shooter, Kelsey Perry, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
