LITTLE ROCK, AR – A wildfire has burned over 2,000 acres in southwestern Drew County and is not contained, according to the Arkansas Forestry Commission.

Sheila Doughty, spokesperson for Arkansas Forestry Commission, says crews are using bulldozers to try to dig a ring around the fire to stop its progress. Doughty also says air tankers will be fighting the fire today as well.

The Drew County Office of Emergency Management says that no evacuations have taken place due to the fire.

Several fire departments and AFC crews are on the scene, which is located west of Lacey.

This is so scary. Do you know if any homes were lost or the cause of the fire?

our state leaders picked a heck of a year to cut firefighters, I guess Beebe will put that money in the medicaid program also. You would think our law makers would put public safety ahead of food stamps but that might cost them a vote.
