BRYANT, AR - Members of Family Church in Bryant refuse to let a fire that burned their youth building dampen their spirits.

Right now, Bryant fire investigators still don't know what started the fire Saturday night, but church members are ready to move forward.

No one got hurt as firefighters put out the flames that burned the teen center and church offices to the ground.

"My phone just lit up. My daughter from Texarkana was leaving messages. Hollering over the answering machine. I turned my mobile phone on and had about 25 messages that our church was on fire," says Senior Pastor Perry Black.

Black rushed to his church as soon as he heard about the fire. So did youth group member Spencer Lloyd, who has worshipped at Family Church since second grade.

"It was something that you never really expected to happen to you, and then once it does, it's sort of unexpected, but at the same time, I'm super pumped about what's coming up and everything and I can't wait to see where this place is going in the future," says Lloyd.

Despite the loss of the teen building, church members are thankful firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to the main building.

Sunday, the congregation prayed in the parking lot, hopeful for what's in store for the Family Church. The pastor expects to have a new teen center built within the next year.

"Here at Family Church, we are truly on fire for Jesus. And, we're not ashamed to say our best days are ahead," says Black.

The senior pastor tells FOX16 he thinks lightning likely hit the church and started the fire. The Bryant Fire Department says since we had storms last night, lightning is a possibility that it will take into consideration as it investigates.
